Monkey Magic aka Raunaq Sahni, a 26-year-old travel content creator and author, is widely popular for his storytelling and raw content. Recently, he took a challenge to travel from Kashmir to Kanyakumari for free for 30 days.
His series “Crossing India for free” shows a beautiful side of India, not just the diverse landscapes and culture, but the beauty of people. He started from Lal Chowk in Kashmir. On this journey he needs to maintain a balance of 1 lakh and if any amount would be deducted from that, he needs to earn it while traveling. YES. You heard it right!
A beautiful scenic trip starts. We all know Kashmir is about Dal Lake, beautiful valleys, lush greenery and great hospitality by locals. And we witnessed this through Monkey Magic when he met Ansar, as per the plan to travel for free, so he approached Anaz, a shikara rider, to stay at his place and the magic happened. When Anaz said yes, he introduced his family and welcomed him with open arms. A kawa (kashmiri tea) seller refused to get payment from him. He said that“ you are our guest”.
And the next day, Kashmir witnessed a cruel act of terrorism, the ‘Pahalgam attack’ and the Monkey magic journey of smooth traveling took a rough patch where he was stuck and faced many challenges for getting to transportation and many things. He still continued with the journey. Later, he went to Delhi and there he earned the amount that he spent by clicking pictures on the streets of Delhi, with the help of his friends, breaking fears from their minds and finally giving it a try, which shows you need to give a little boost to people, and they can do things which they are scared of.
From becoming a chaiwala to becoming a teacher for a day, from witnessing their caravan get burned, the Kapil breakdown after this incident will directly touch every person who watches the video. Monkey Magic's journey was not all easy. Just like anyone, he also had to face alot of challenges, but the difference is he didn't stop, took lifts, slept on a railway platform, an ashram, the ghats of Narmada and a hilltop Shiva Mandir while facing heavy rain while camping which eventually was not the comforting thing.
On his journey you will learn about different people's stories, their different perspectives on life. The monkey magic journey is proof of how beautiful the execution feels when it's done. You will have doubts about everything, like every other person, but you will keep moving regardless of that.
